Staff Counselling

Confidential staff counselling is available to all University employees free of charge under the Employee Assistance Program. The aim of the service is to provide timely counselling and support to employees who have work or non-work related concerns or issues.

Employees are eligible for three free sessions.  Should employees wish to receive more than three sessions, please contact Human Resources on telephone 6226 7877 to discuss.

Employees who fail to provide 24 hours notice of their inability to attend a scheduled counselling session will personally incur an account for that session.

Employees will be required to present their current Staff ID Card to the Service Provider at the first appointment. Employee ID numbers will be retained by the Provider.

For your general information 

Anyone has access to mental health care services through the Federal Government's Better Access Program Initiative. Note: Services under this program are not funded by the University and will be the responsibility of the individual.

Under this initiative Medicare rebates are available to patients for selected mental health services provided by GPs, psychologists, psychiatrists and eligible social workers and occupational therapists.
