The WHS Safety Manual not only includes general information but is a tool that can be adapted for Organisational Units to write their own safety manual. This modified manual can be used to assist in completing a thorough inspection of an Organisational Unit to ensure that the Unit complies with their safety requirements.
The WHS Safety Manual includes (appendix 1) a template of an Action Plan which can also be adapted for Organisational Unit use. Action Plans should be completed quarterly at a minimum. These action plans are useful to complete the annual WHS CSA Audit.
After completion of the manual, inspection and the action plans, the management review checklist (appendix 2) is a useful document for the Officer (Head of Organisational Unit) to confirm their WHS Management Review plan. The checklist may assist in identifying any relevant areas that can be added to the Organisational Unit Action Plans. The review checklist (appendix 2) should be carried out at least bi- annually.
The WHS Manual is available on the Work Health and Safety website, Policies and Procedures page.
