Recently, staff from various Organisational Units in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie attended an ergonomic office workstation training course.
Repetitive and prolonged use of a computer keyboard and/or mouse can lead to muscle aches and discomfort. Having incorrect posture from a badly designed workstation including the incorrect use of your chair can often be the cause of such injuries.
The course was provided by Michael Roberts from IPM,who is an experienced Consulting Physiotherapist.
The course was very popular and provided attendees with the skills and knowledge to assist colleagues with their basic workstation ergonomic requirements and to identify when a colleague may require specialist help.
For assistance with setting up your office workstation, a list of the trained staff is now available on the Work Health and Safety website at Manual Handling/Ergonomics
