The first Your Voice@UTAS Staff Survey was undertaken in April 2009. The survey aimed to better understand staff attitudes and levels of engagement with the University, to identify issues of concern to staff, to develop mechanisms to address those issues, and to identify and celebrate areas of strength. Findings from the 2009 Your Voice@UTAS survey have brought about many benefits and improvements which have become an accepted part of UTAS life. The survey also informed changes that were incorporated into the staff agreements for both Academic and Professional staff. The outcomes from the 2009 survey can be found below.
The survey will be available for every ongoing and fixed-term staff member (and selected casual staff) to complete. It is your staff survey, and its purposes are:
The survey is anonymous and is completed electronically, with further information on how to access the survey to follow. Staff who do not regularly access computers will be able to receive the survey in hard copy through the mail: contact details below. The survey has been designed in collaboration with a team of researchers and consultants in the Voice Project at Macquarie University, headed by Dr Peter Langford. The instrument has been tailored to meet the specific operational and strategic needs of UTAS. As the survey is anonymous please be honest in your responses. Results are being analysed off site by Voice Project staff, with only group averages being reported to UTAS in order to protect the anonymity of responses. At no point will anyone within UTAS be able to identify responses from individual employees. Note that disaggregated responses will be provided but only where there have been 10 or more respondents against any particular demographic category.
If you have any questions about this survey, or you want to request a paper copy of the survey form, please email Your.Voice@utas.edu.au or contact the Voice Project Senior Consultant, Ellie Boughton by email to ellie.boughton@voiceproject.com.au or phone on +61 2 8875 2813.
Once data has been analysed by Voice Project staff, results will be posted on this site.
The 2009 survey resulted in many changes and improvements at UTAS.
