Alumni who graduated 40-plus years ago reunited recently at a luncheon in Hobart.
It was a reunion of sorts, as the University of Tasmania alumni who graduated 40-plus years ago gathered in Hobart recently.
The event featured key speaker alumnus and the University of Tasmania’s Dean of Law Professor Tim McCormack, who touched on his return to the State and the institution where his law journey began.
University of Tasmania’s Associate Director Alumni and Events Janine Arnold said the 40-plus event was a success, with feedback supporting the need to provide more events for the 40-plus cohort next year.
“It was wonderful to see so many alumni connect and network, with many arriving as strangers but leaving as friends,” Ms Arnold said.
“Attendees contacted us after the event to say they thoroughly enjoyed catching up with old friends who share a common experience of being part of the University of Tasmania’s Alumni.”
Ms Arnold said the events were aimed at offering people the opportunity to stay connected not just with each other but with the University.
“In 2019 we will continue to create these events which also give us a chance to update alumni on current University developments, but also hear what they’ve been up to in their careers and lives. It’s about connecting with our people.”
Future University and alumni events can be found on the University's events calendar.
