Alumni and friends from Melbourne came together to hear from the University’s Chancellor, the Honourable Michael Field AC, and Vice-Chancellor Professor Rufus Black at a reception held at the RACV Club in Melbourne on July 18.
The reception featured a Q&A session with the Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor Professor Rufus Black, and was facilitated by Alumni Advisory Committee member, and Melbourne-based alumnus Catherine Williamson.
Ms Williamson graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Business with Honours and has held senior roles in a number of established and start-up Australian businesses, in Australia and overseas. Her current position is Group Manager at Country Road Group.
Associate Director Alumni and Events and MC on the night Janine Arnold hailed the event a success.
“It was wonderful to see so many alumni attend. Our Melbourne-based alumni have a strong connection to the University of Tasmania, which has inevitably had a significant and positive impact on their lives in one way or another,” Ms Arnold said.
Ms Arnold said the focus of the Q&A session between the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor provided an opportunity to hear from two leaders who are taking the University on the next phase of evolution, which has both people and purpose at its core.
