Course Structure

As a Master of Teaching student, you can specialise in either Primary (Prep to Grade 6) or Secondary (Grade 7 to 12) teaching. In both cases, you’ll need to successfully complete 18 theory units and four Professional Experience (school placement) units.

The secondary teaching specialisation requires you to choose two curriculum teaching areas, determined by the subjects you studied in your undergraduate degree.

Let’s pretend you’ve chosen to study Secondary teaching — specialising in English and Drama — over two years, full-time. Here is how your Master of Teaching could be structured.

For more specific information, including all units available and their delivery options, please view the Master of Teaching course page in the Courses & Units Handbook.
