For many Chinese visitors, locations such as Tasmania are rather exotic and foreign, and consequently tourists may find themselves more anxious in such places given less travel time, less infrastructure, less cultural knowledge and fewer Chinese services.

The talk will be based on empirical research findings from interviewing Chinese tourists.

The presenter will discuss potential ways of addressing Chinese travel anxieties and the co-creation of tourism experiences, including understanding the dynamism of Chinese culture.

Presenter

Yue Ma is currently completing her PhD at Tasmanian School of Business and Economics. The topic of her PhD is ‘The co-creation of Chinese tourist experiences at Port Arthur Historic Site’.  She worked as a digital marketing consultant previously.
