Frequently asked questions

How does the D2M handle track changes in Word?

  • The D2M treats all changes as final, whether they are approved or not.

How does the D2M handle comments in Word?

  • Comments are not bought across at all. It is recommended that comments are used to provide instructions to other staff members e.g. “enter a paragraph here introducing yourself to students” as comments as it mitigates the risk of this kind of text appearing in MyLO.

I added some extra formatting why has this disappeared?

  • Any additional formatting i.e. different font style, colour or size will be stripped as part of the conversion. It is recommended that you use the MyLO MATE styling as much as possible. Any additional formatting changes will need to be made in MyLO post conversion.

I want a new feature, how do I ask for this?

  • The D2M is currently in BETA mode, please send all change requests to MyLO.MATE@utas.edu.au. Please be aware that as this tool is designed to be rolled out institution wide, College/School/Faculty based changes may not be applied.

Can I create a storyboard template for my team to use?

  • Yes! We are happy to work with you to design a storyboard template that has common styling (such as references all having the same heading style) that you can then send out for people to build into. Please send these requests to Claire.Lockett@utas.edu.au who will help build a template to your specifications.

Something did not work as described in this document, help!

  • Sorry about that! This tool is still in BETA mode, please report any errors to MyLO.MATE@utas.edu.au, we will look into this and it will be triaged appropriately.

I realised I made a mistake, can I upload the storyboard again and have it update MyLO?

  • If you upload the storyboard again, you will have two versions in MyLO. We suggest first deleting the old module.

Can students see the content as soon as I have uploaded it?

  • No, the parent module is hidden by default. This allows for a quality check of the content after it has been uploaded. The pages within the module are visible. Please be mindful of this when changing the visibility settings.
