What can I study?

In the Bachelor of Business (B3A) you can major in Accounting, Management, or Marketing.

Accounting

Accountants are needed in every industry to give sound advice on the financial position of a business. We offer a globally-recognised qualification, accredited by the major professional accounting bodies, that can take you anywhere.

Launceston, Cradle Coast or distance (online).

Management

All businesses, from large corporations to start-ups, need good managers to succeed. You’ll learn how to lead a modern business and manage people effectively in the workplace. This major is recognised by the Australian Institute of Management.

Marketing

Marketing is about finding creative solutions to communication problems. You’ll learn how to identify a target audience, develop strategies to reach them, and communicate effectively to drive action. This major is recognised by the Australian Marketing Institute.

How will I study?

Accelerated Study Periods

In the accelerated study mode you'll attend classes across three 12-week accelerated study periods a year instead of two 13-week semesters.

All Bachelor of Business students at the Launceston campus will study in this pattern but only students seeking to complete in the two-year accelerated mode need to study full-time across all three accelerated study period (12 units per calendar year).

This model offers greater flexibility, so you can match your study load and pattern to suit your lifestyle. You can choose to study part-time across all three study periods and have more time for work and life commitments or you choose to study in two out of three study periods each year and enjoy an extended break.

Bachelor of Business (Accelerated) is taught face-to-face from a central CBD location in the heart of Launceston. The small and micro business community is growing rapidly bringing new opportunities to the region.* With Australia’s first gigabit NBN connection breaking down the barrier of distance businesses in Launceston can have global reach and stay locally-based.

Launceston is also home to a vibrant arts and culture scene. In this very affordable city you’ll have a relaxed environment to focus on your studies and some of Tasmania’s most famous attractions on your doorstep when you need a break from the books.

New in 2021, you can study the Bachelor of Business (Accelerated) from our Cradle Coast campus, with the Accounting major taught face-to-face in full and Marketing and Management majors offered in blended online and face-to-face mode.

Based in Burnie, on the picturesque north-west coast, the Cradle Coast campus is set in peaceful rural surroundings and offers modern, purpose-built teaching and learning facilities.

Domestic Scholarships Destination Australia Scholarship

If you're a Tasmanian domestic student, who is commencing full-time study on the Launceston or Cradle Coast campuses in 2021, you could be eligible for a number of Bachelor of Business (Accelerated) bursaries to assist students relocating to study or have a residential address 20 km or more from the Cradle Coast campus or 50km or more from Launceston campus.
