In this dynamic, hands-on presentation, students learn about seismic waves and their passage through different mediums (such as the classroom floor).
This knowledge is then used to explore earthquakes and how scientists predict and understand these life-changing events.
- Suitable for students in Years 7 – 12 (specifically Year 9 Physical Sciences and Earth and Space Science)
- Maximum of 30 students per session (depending on location, numbers may be restricted on UTAS campus based on Covid19 restrictions)
- Activity can be run at your school (depending on location), or on UTAS Sandy Bay campus
- Duration approximately 30 – 45 minutes (excluding travel time)
