Library and Cultural Collections for Schools

The University of Tasmania Library offers a range of services and resources and workshops for school students, teachers, teacher librarians and other community members. School staff and students are welcome to use the library as a study space, use the print resources in the library, and access some of our online resources via catalogue computers. Due to licensing agreements, off-campus access to online databases and ebooks is restricted to University of Tasmania students and staff.

Members of the community may join the library. School staff and students 18 years and over should choose the General Public category on the application form, whereas students under the age of 18 should select the School Student category, which includes a link to the consent form (PDF 86.2 KB) for a Parent/Guardian/Responsible adult. The consent form should be printed, completed, scanned and then uploaded as an attachment to the application form. The application form is completed and submitted online.

Joining the library is free and enables you to:

We also have a range of subject and general library guides to help with assignments.

The Library offers a seasonal workshop program for secondary school students, as well as customised tours and information literacy workshops.
