Introduction
Addresses the importance of the services industry, the distinctive characteristics of services, and marketing implications arising from these. Students develop a firm understanding of key challenges and issues associated with marketing in a services environment; gain a broad understanding of the interaction between management and marketing within a service organisation; and become familiar with issues in developing and assessing service quality. The unit includes a focus on what is significant in hospitality and tourism management, and in the marketing of information services.
