Hobart, Launceston, Cradle Coast
This is a level 300 elective unit available only to students studying undergraduate degrees (including combined degrees) in the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics (TSBE). Students who are enrolled in courses other than in the TSBE but who are completing a major offered by this School may be able to enrol in BAA321 by arrangement. Students who wish to enrol for this unit should contact the Corporate Internships office - Corporate.Internships@utas.edu.au. See the internships website for eligibility criteria for this unit.
Students undertake a semester of business project/academically oriented study that integrates work and learning over two days per week. The student is physically located in a corporate environment, and specific work projects are determined in collaboration with the internship business organisation, programme director and student. The Corporate Internship Programme not only recognises and builds on the skills, capabilities and knowledge students have acquired in their first two years of study, and increases awareness and experience of the wider social, cultural and global environment of a workplace. It provides a learning situation in the real world of business. Attendance at on-campus/seminars may be required. Placements will be advertised on the Corporate Internship website.
