To be eligible to enrol in this unit students will have completed professional development through CIRCLE.

Introduction

This unit will give an introduction and overview to the importance of school culture. The participant will develop the skills and knowledge required to contribute to the process of building a school culture that will enable the achievement of the school's strategic priorities. This will involve defining what is meant by school culture and researching the culture of the participant's own school. The participant will also investigate how culture impacts on the wellbeing of staff and students and of the whole school community. The participant will be required to plan: a change of culture; implementation of a new initiative or tradition; or an extension or reinforcement of an existing aspect of culture that has been forgotten or overlooked. The participant will also reflect on how they can support others in moving through that change.
