Introduction

CAD001 is a core unit at Foundation level in the Bachelor of Dementia Care (BDC). This unit is strongly recommended for students to complete before they study other units in the BDC as it is specially designed for preparing students to study the BDC. CAD001 supports students in developing technology and academic skills that are essential for successful online study at the University of Tasmania. It introduces specific software programs and tools used throughout the BDC degree. It also teaches how to write reflective essays with a guideline on how to find and reference resources obtained from different databases.
