Introduction

This unit introduces students to the pathological processes underlying various human diseases.   Students learn about common pathological conditions, their causes, including environmental factors and their consequences.   A group project and presentation allows in-depth study of one disease process, its causes and outcomes.

2-hour lecture/seminar (13 weeks), 8 rostered tutorials per semester (other tutorials as requested).

Assessment

Mid semester essay (1000 words) (15%); Mid semester MCQtest (15%); Group project and presentation (20%); Final 2-hour examination (50%)
