Conceptual Design and Communication XPD141
Introduction
This unit aims to introduce students to the profession of engineering and covers professional skills including design, communication (written, oral, visual and technical), teamwork and project management. This unit will help students clarify an engineering career path and will build their skill-set towards being a competent engineer with skills in both open-ended problems and solution focused outcomes. Students will work in groups to produce a solution to a real world problem.

Learning Outcomes
- Design a solution for a societal problem using engineering design practice and principles in conjunction with project management within a team context I
- Select and apply a range of civil, electrical or mechanical engineering design tools and techniques by applying them to address specific requirements
- Demonstrate individual responsible and accountable ethical work practice within an engineering collective
