This Graduate Certificate is ideal for those students who intend to undertake postgraduate coursework programs with the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics, but have never studied at university before. It is a qualifying pathway degree for admission to the following degrees:
- Master of Business Administration (International)
- Master of Finance
- Master of Finance (Specialisation)
- Master of Professional Accounting
- Master of Professional Accounting (Specialisation)
The Graduate Certificate in Business Studies is a 4‐unit course, offered full time and part time. This course is full fee‐paying, which means that you will be charged at the full fee‐paying rate listed for each unit.
International applicants:
A Graduate Certificate in Business Studies pathway is also available to you. Please refer to the information provided by the UTAS International Pathway College.

Learning outcomes
CLO1 | Develop high level written and oral communication skills to explain and critique theoretical propositions, methodologies and conclusions and apply these to complex management problems across audiences characterised by culturally and linguistically diverse people with varying levels of expertise. |

Entry requirements
Entry Requirements
For admission to this course you need either:
- A completed Australian Advanced Diploma or above, or approved equivalent#;
OR - at least two years' management experience*.
You must provide evidence to support your eligibility for the degree, in particular a copy of your CV showing your work experience, and letters of reference from line managers or similar to confirm the work experience meets the minimum level for entry.
#approved equivalent from any overseas institution as assessed by the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR).
*minimum management experience in this case is defined as supervisory, team leader or business manager experience. In the case of applicants who have worked as a sole trader or consultant, additional evidence to support the level of experience must be provided.
Fees & scholarships
Domestic students
Domestic students enrolled in a full fee paying place are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the fees you pay for each unit you enrol in. Full fee paying domestic students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.

International students
2021 Total Course Fee (international students): $17,975 AUD*.
Course cost based on a rate of $35,950 AUD per standard, full-time year of study (100 credit points).
* Please note that this is an indicative fee only.
International students
International students are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the annual rate. International students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.
