Develop your Health Service Management (Safety and Quality) skills and knowledge to meet today's workforce shortages and demands.

In this course, you'll gain the knowledge, analysis skills and practical competencies through using the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and National Model Clinical Governance Framework as the focus for study. The underlying theories and models, purpose, evidence for, application and systems to review each of the standards will be investigated. You'll also get opportunities to engage with Australian experts and participate in industry case studies and analysis.

The Graduate Certificate in Health Service Management (Safety and Quality) is offered on a part-time basis.

The certificate is delivered fully online, with optional half-day masterclasses (2-3 per semester) which will be delivered on campus in Sydney. Students will have the option to participate via videoconference.

The Graduate Certificate in Health Service Management (Safety and Quality), developed and delivered by the Australian Institute of Health Service Management.

The overall purpose of the Graduate Certificate in Health Service Management (Safety and Quality) course is to develop graduates who have in-depth understanding and practical application of the National Model Clinical Governance Framework and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS). The course provides the knowledge and competencies for students to review the overarching National Model Clinical Governance Framework to determine appropriate systems for governance, accountability and transparency to meet the health industry needs. Students will also review their organisational management requirements and clinical systems for effectiveness.

The units are developed in collaboration with industry to reflect industry practices and to develop graduates to meet workforce shortages and demands. Graduates will be able to apply critical, technical and creative skills to making ethical and social decisions and judgements in complex health information setting. A blended learning approach enables students to engage with local and national leaders, and partake in actual industry assessments strategies, including data analysis, case studies and projects.

Articulation into further study in the Master of Health Service Management is possible on completion of the Graduate Certificate.
