The Graduate Certificate in Marketing is a 6 month full-time or part-time equivalent course offered by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics. The course is full fee-paying, which means that you will be charged at the full fee-paying rate listed for each unit.

This course provides an introduction to Marketing principles for students who are new to the discipline, or who only have limited experience in Marketing. Successful completion of this course will give students a solid foundation in Marketing fundamentals, and can be built on through further studies to achieve the level of competency required to become a Marketing professional.

This course aims to develop marketing graduates who are independent learners and who have the ability to reflect on experiences, think critically, and interpret complex information and practices through research and inquiry. Our graduates are prepared for senior positions where they can use information to make socially responsible and informed decisions.

    To graduate from the Graduate Diploma of Marketing course, a student must satisfactorily complete 100 credit points of study comprising:

    Entry requirements

    For entry into the Graduate Certificate in Marketing students must meet the following criteria:

    • Completion of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, in any discipline, at Bachelor level of higher in an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution; or
    • Qualifications, relevant work experience or other special circumstances, as approved by the Executive Dean or delegated authority.

     

    In addition to the entry requirements for domestic students, international applicants must also provide one of the following:

    • UTASAccess Level 7 with a minimum overall score of 60% and no individual skill below 60%; or
    • IELTS with an overall Band of 6 and no Band less than 6; or
    • TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 72 (no individual skill must be lower than: Reading 16; Listening 16: Speaking 18: and Writing 22); or
    • provide evidence that you have studied for 2 years full-time with English as the sole medium of instruction and examination.

    These tests must not be more than 24 months old. 

    Students who successfully complete the C5F Graduate Certificate in Marketing may articulate with full credit into the C6F Graduate Diploma of Marketing or 37L Master of Marketing Management.

    Options for this course

    This is a full-fee course, which means you’ll need to pay the full amount for your studies. Commonwealth Supported Places are not available in this course. However, there are still support options available for eligible students to help you manage the cost of studying this course.

    You may be able to fund all or part of your tuition fees by accessing a FEE-HELP loan from the Australian Government. FEE-HELP is a loan scheme that assists domestic full-fee students to pay for University, which is repaid through the Australian Tax System once you earn above a repayment threshold. This means you’ll only have to start repaying the loan once you start earning above a specific amount
