I would 100% recommend doing honours. Because what it comes down to is that you get to research what you want to research. It’s not your honours supervisor who says, ‘you need to research this’, it’s you having a conversation with your honours supervisor about this is what I’ve been thinking or this part of business interests me.

This on-campus, 1-year full-time or 2-year part-time Honours degree course is offered at the Hobart campus. The TSBE Honours programs may be offered in Launceston but that is subject to sufficient enrolment numbers and available supervisors.

Honours candidates can undertake their thesis in the following areas:

  • Accounting
  • Human Resource Management
  • Management
  • Marketing
  • Tourism

If you are considering enrolling or would like to express interest in the Honours program, please contact the Honours Coordinator - Dr Megan Woods - before submitting your application for admission.

The aim of the honours year is to enable students to develop further their interests and research skills and to provide a foundation for postgraduate study in the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics (TSBE).
