Introduction
The Unit introduces students to the Australian and Hong Kong legal systems in the context of business and covers a range of topics relating to the business environment, including:
- An introduction to the Australian and Hong Kong legal systems and the sources of law (enacted and unenacted) applicable in each:
- The law of torts
- The law of contract
- Consumer Law
- Agency Law; and
- Business structures and basic Australian corporate law and governance principles
Where applicable comparisons between Australian and Hong Kong law in these areas (where they differ substantially) will be drawn.
