Introduction
This unit provides students with the skills and knowledge to be effective communicators within the workplace. It builds on basic literacy skills and incorporates these into specific simulated work related contexts designed to emulate, examine and evaluate workplace communication methods and uses. Students will also analyse effective communicators and communication methods. Through the use of real-world case studies, students will develop their knowledge and understanding of the essential role communication plays in business environments. Particular emphasis is placed on group dynamics and team problem solving activities. Students will participate in individual and group-based workshop activities.
