Venture Planning BAA748

Creativity, innovation, commercialization, and business insight are important for successful entrepreneurship in general and start-ups in particular. Most entrepreneurs have ideas and energy to commence a business. However, they often lack in capitalising on structured opportunity to research, develop and present a strategic venture plan that will help them evaluate all aspects of the economic viability of their entrepreneurial venture including a description and analysis of their venture prospects. Additionally, if the venture plan stands up to the standards expected by an angel investor, or other funding provider, entrepreneurs are likely to secure the seed money (or resources) for their start-ups or enhance the capacity of their enterprises.

This unit will develop students’ knowledge of strategic venture planning that carefully explains every aspect of a new business venture. Students will create a professional strategic venture plan for a real-world enterprise as their major assessment, which will be returned to them after marking, to be used in, or for, their entrepreneurship projects.
