Rozelle - Sydney

Introduction

This unit provides an overview of management concepts and theories to assist in understanding how complex healthcare organisations function. Students are challenged to think about managing conflicting priorities and to reflect on how different lenses afforded by management theory and practice in other industries might be relevant. A range of management issues are examined including leadership, strategic management, change, and stakeholder behaviour. These issues are considered at the individual, team and organisational levels and how they interact with one another. Students will have opportunities to hear from experts across Australia and participate in industry case studies and analysis.
