Special Topics in Economics BEA474
Hobart
Introduction
BEA474 is a special topics economics unit offered by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics. BEA474 builds on previous units in microeconomic theory and applied econometrics. Environmental economics involves the application of economic theory and practice to the many environmental challenges confronting society. The unit emphasizes the development of advanced skills required to provide evidence to support decision-making.
The focus this year is on meta-analysis to measure the economic value of changes in environmental quality and/or resources using market and non-market valuation techniques. Students will develop writing skills with respect to systematic literature reviews, meta-regression and presentation of results.
