Professional Accreditation
Policing does not abide by professional accreditation such as Social Work. There is however, a stringent police recruitment process which leads to a community member to be ‘accredited to become a police officer’ (meaning: meets the requirements to enroll in a police college and academy). This is prior to any educational/training component. Professional standards and expectations are governed by professional bodies such as ANZPAA.
