Duration refers to the minimum and maximum amounts of time in which this course can be completed. It will be affected by whether you choose to study full or part time, noting that some programs are only available part time.

This course may not be available to international students. Please see the list of distance courses (i.e. online and taken outside Australia) that are offered to international students

The three-year Bachelor of Adult and Applied Learning provides an opportunity for TAFE teachers and workplace trainers to further develop their teaching capabilities, and to advance their career in settings such as TAFEs, private Registered Training Organisations (RTO) or government organisations.
  • Take advantage of a valuable professional development opportunity for TAFE teachers and workplace trainers that recognises your existing qualifications and trade experience.
  • Develop your skills and knowledge of contemporary educational practices within a supportive and applied learning environment
  • Enjoy the flexibility of part-time or full-time online study

Additionally, the course is suitable for experienced professionals in specialised areas such as construction, fabrication, cooking and hospitality who are seeking to become teachers and researchers in the VET sector, as well as Service personnel seeking a commission in training specialisations.

Career outcomes

Graduates of the Bachelor of Adult and Applied Learning will have a range of specialised and transferable skills that are highly valued by a diverse range of organisations and workplaces, including:

  • TAFEs
  • VET-in-School programs
  • Defence, Police & Emergency Service training academies
  • Private or Enterprise Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)

They also will be well positioned to fulfill roles within Human Resource and Development (HRD) where the professional development of staff is a key function.
