Teaching and Assessing in Vocational Education EAL300

Introduction

In this unit, you will integrate your trade/disciplinary knowledge with knowledge and skills about learning and assessment, to design a learning encounter in a vocational education or school setting. You will engage with peers in developing frameworks for learning and tools for assessing that are relevant to your trade/discipline/profession, and you will apply these in a real-life setting. This unit is a threshold unit in the final year of your B.Ed (Applied Learning) which qualifies you for full teacher registration to lead vocational education in schools and senior colleges across Australia. This unit is routinely offered as advanced standing for students who have completed a Cert IV qualification.

*Note: based on Cert IV (AQF4) equivalence leading to B.Ed (Applied Learning) CLOs (AQF7). Students who have completed a Cert IV qualification (TAE40116) assessed by an Australian accredited Registered Training Organisation or TAFE will gain credit for this unit.
