Introduction

This unit focuses upon an exploration of the scope of English for specific purposes (ESP) and the related learning and teaching within the specialities. Areas focused upon include: language analysis of English for Specific Purposes; the scope of ESP; learning and teaching theory and practice; the classroom as a learning and reflective practice environment; the influences of digital technologies on ESP; English for a variety of specific and special purposes; and ESP course design and assessment.
