Successful School Leadership ESG786

Note:

This unit will only be offered subject to sufficient enrolment numbers

Introduction

This unit, which aims to deepen understandings about some key aspects of (successful) school leadership, is for those from a variety of educational settings who already occupy, or expect to occupy, positions entailing leadership. Topics covered include why school leadership is important, what constitutes school leadership and how school leadership contributes to improved practice and learning. It has both a theoretical and a practical focus - through a brief exploration of current theories and key writings, students will be encouraged to consider how this translates 'on the ground' i.e. what the implications of the theory are for themselves, and their workplace setting.
