This unit is for the supported and assessed practice of English language teaching and can be conducted in situ, on campus at UTAS, Launceston or with a university recognised establishment locally or internationally.

Teaching Pattern

Students are required to arrange to spend a minimum of 60 hours as an observer, team teacher and full class teacher. Students are required to plan learning and teaching, with justifications, and reflect on the outcomes both from the learner and teacher perspectives.

Assessment

Assessment 1: Lesson Planning, with justifications, (30%); Assessment 2: Practicum Report with reflections on TESOL learning and teaching (70%)
