Introduction
This unit prepares teachers in secondary schools to plan, teach and assess the Australian Curriculum: Technologies – Digital Technologies. Students will learn the fundamentals of digital computers and educational theories applicable to their use in schools. You will find how to use specific pedagogical resources to plan lessons and assess learning against the achievement standards of the curriculum. As solutions are coded in the general-purpose language of Python, we will trace outputs, optimise designs and modularise programs. Teach the use of computational thinking and the key concepts of abstraction; data collection, representation and interpretation; specification, algorithms and implementation to create digital solutions.
