Teaching Technologies ESH732
Introduction
This unit is for technologies teachers in secondary schools, and introduces strategies to integrate the disparate subjects in the area. You will learn to teach the Australian Curriculum: Technologies using an integrated approach in Years 7-10, and plan for, and assess student learning achievement. Students will blend all four Technologies contexts (Engineering principles and systems; Food and fibre production; Food specialisation; Materials and Technologies Specialisation) with Digital Technologies. Three-dimensional printing (perhaps for food), robotics, the Internet of things and product development will provide rich occasions for integration. Project management, Design and Computational Thinking are bought together to enhance learning of Technologies in a holistic manner. Assessment: Practical exercise (50%); small group classroom project (50%).
