Introduction

The aim of this unit is for teachers to undertake the role of a coach and/or mentor for a pre-service teacher. This unit will assist teachers to develop their understanding of coaching and mentoring and to develop skills to improve their personal coaching and mentoring of pre-service teachers. The unit analyses the relationship between coaching and mentoring and improvement in pre-service teachers performance in a range of teaching settings.  The unit is relevant to all teachers who are committed to improving the quality of pre-service teachers through coaching and mentoring.
