Using 21^st Century Digital Tools in the classroom has progressed earlier objectives of inclusive educational technology, which were to promote access and to support and augment the learning of students with diverse learning needs. This unit will review the use of commonly used and emerging technologies in today's inclusive learning environments and explore how the use of digital technology can not only augment a student's learning, but can promote higher order thinking and task redefinition.  Models that underpin the effective use of technologies for learning will be analysed and applied in the development of example case studies. In order to embrace and cater for the full range of student diversity, this unit will promote an understanding of the role of technologies in the curriculum and pedagogy of 21^st Century learning, fostering educators' capacity to apply universal design for learning. In relation to more personalised learning, the unit explores the use of process and product differentiation strategies and involves evaluating and creating applications of technology for individual students.
