Introduction

Building upon 'Learning and teaching for students with Dyslexia and Other Specific Learning Difficulties', you will develop specialist skills to identify learners with specific learning difficulties in the classroom and make diagnostic appraisals based on observation  and assessment of attainments as well as the reports of other professionals.  By the end of this unit, you will have developed an understanding of the social, emotional and behavioural difficulties pupils with specific learning difficulties may encounter, and be able to apply this knowledge to design and report on educational interventions, foster students' study and organisation skills, improve students' motivation and self-esteem, and collaborate effectively to promote student achievement.
