Introduction
This unit introduces students to specialist writing styles and conventions relevant to their creative practice. This unit will prepare students to engage in music analysis, criticism, and research, as well as writing for other professional contexts. These may include:
- music criticism and reviews
- critical analysis of musical works
- research
- program notes and liner notes
- other related professional writing
This unit will also equip students with an applied understanding of writing about music in different formats, and an ability to critically evaluate written sources relevant to their discipline
