Curatorial Practice FSA306

Hobart, Launceston

Introduction

Contemporary curatorial practice encompasses a broad range of sites and cultural industries, from small Artist-Run-Institutes through to large national museums and galleries and from collections built up over centuries to live performance. This unit introduces critical contemporary debates and developments in curatorial studies and the ecologies of cultural heritage. Preparing learners to practice in the Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) sector, you will generate a self-initiated and self-directed exhibition and learning program that responds to industry and community needs.
