Introduction
This unit focuses on the development of ideas and images leading to final, resolved artworks. While you will deal with many of the more traditional issues surrounding painting, you might also employ new technologies, or other non-conventional processes.
In undertaking this unit students build on their acquired skills to explore painting through a range of media and techniques, whilst further developing their conceptual approach. Students will be guided through more in depth approaches to observation and reflection, connecting their studio-based experiences with contextual knowledge of contemporary, critical discourse. Students are expected to become increasingly competent in their ability to use exploratory processes to develop and realise resolved work, to identify their individual expression and to critically engage with artworks. Study of this unit will involve guided individual and collaborative investigation.

Learning Outcomes
- Use digital and/or analogue cameras and digital editing tools to manipulate photographic imagery for the production of photographic artworks.
- Document and evaluate technical experiments, decision-making and conceptual exploration of a self-directed thematic, through a process of critical and contextual analysis and reflection.
- Create a series of photographic images that document formulated ideas and concepts generated through a set project and a self-directed thematic.
- Identify and follow WHS practices relevant to photographic techniques, materials, equipment and work spaces.
