Introduction
Students are introduced to more complex printmaking techniques, building on the print processes covered in Printmaking 1. Students will be assigned projects through which they will explore and develop these techniques. As the semester progresses previous print techniques may be incorporated to continue developing skills, material knowledge and understanding of the potential of print processes.
Studio 2A will diversify and broaden your capacity to understand and engage with diverse materials, methodologies and processes associated with contemporary practice. Through group and individual tasks, you will develop your ability to collaborate and experiment with materials, iterative process and idea development.
The emphasis is on exploring new mediums, materials and techniques with a view to developing an innovative and inquiring work practice. Through the guidance of staff, students are encouraged to develop independent learning (and thinking) strategies towards the development of individual expression and self- directed learning.
