Introduction
Students continue to be introduced to more complex printmaking techniques, building on the print processes covered in Printmaking 1 & 2A. Students will be assigned projects through which they will explore and develop these techniques. As the semester progresses previous print techniques may be incorporated to continue developing skills, material knowledge and understanding of the potential of print processes.
In undertaking this unit students build on their acquired skills to explore Printmaking practice through a range of media and techniques, whilst further developing their conceptual approach.
Students will be guided through more in depth approaches to observation and reflection, connecting their studio-based experiences with contextual knowledge of contemporary, critical discourse.
Students are expected to become increasingly competent in their ability to experiment, develop and realize resolved work, to identify their individual expression and to critically engage with artworks. Study of this unit will involve guided individual and collaborative investigation.
