Introduction
You will be introduced to the critical and speculative processes of creative enquiry and cross-disciplinary collaborative project development. Using different 'what if' and 'how could' scenarios and cultural provocations that tap into contemporary issues across ecology, technology and politics, the unit will challenge you to develop creative works that present alternative trajectories and critically examine possible, desirable and undesirable futures and potential repercussions.
Through cross-disciplinary, team-based creative project development, you will develop effective group work and communication, negotiation and task allocation skills, which are essential for professional practice in the arts.
Emphasis will be placed on the integration of interdisciplinary intellectual and technical skillsets towards the creation of imaginative, unexpected and conceptually rigorous propositions and prototypes with a critical creative purpose.
Your team will develop a project pitch, and through critique and refinement develop it to a proof-of-concept prototype, and through writing articulate, contextualise and evaluate the intention and outcomes.
