Introduction
This unit provides an understanding of the roles and status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in Australia. It considers how colonisation has affected the cultural roles of women and examines a range of contemporary social issues related to Indigenous women (including justice, employment, caring for Country/land rights, rights and activism, political representation, creative and artistic output/recognition).
