The University of Tasmania has partnered with Macquarie University in the teaching of some languages. In place of this unit, please complete an application for Cross-Institutional Study and submit to UTAS UConnect to apply for cross-institutional enrolment in the equivalent Macquarie University unit.
Once you have submitted your application, we will notify you of our approval and provide further instruction on applying to Macquarie University.
Introduction
Is an advanced post-TCE course which places its main emphasis on the development of a sound command of the four language skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing.

- Use increasingly more complex sentence structures in several tenses
- Use bilingual dictionaries
- Translate sentences as necessary at intermediate level
- Read excerpts from French and Francophone literature
- Demonstrate increasingly more accurate aural comprehension and oral production of French, at an appropriate level of competence
