Introduction
This is the continuation of HEG101 German 1A. It is an intensive beginners' unit, which in conjunction with HEG101 aims to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the main structures of the German language. During the four contact hours of this course the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) are taught employing a communicative method. The course is suitable for students who have completed HEG101 or who demonstrate equivalent competency.

Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate knowledge of german vocabulary and grammatical structures through recall
- interpret meaning of basic written texts
- respond to spoken german at an introductory level
- use a repertoire of known of grammatical structures and rules to solve active communication problems
- use basic knowledge and communication strategies (expression, structure, and fluency) to create short oral and written sentences
