Teaching pattern will vary from semester to semester but will comprise 32.5 hours including face to face seminars, fieldwork, online activities, and self directed study. Students will be advised of the teaching pattern at the start of semester.
Introduction
This unit offers students an opportunity to engage with industry and community via a work-integrated learning project. Students work as part of a team, roleplaying as specialists within their chosen study areas, to devise and deliver media and communications content, based on a client brief and/or industry scenario. In some cases, students may complete their creative communications project for a real-life client. In collaboration with an academic coordinator, industry mentors will guide students through the completion of their project, which may involve site visits, field trips, shadowing and client meetings. Project work is complemented by intensive workshops, designed to prepare students for professional practice and potential completion of the third-year internship experience.
