Introduction

This unit combines creative practice with business skills in media and screen industries. You will learn about the political, legal, economic, cultural and technological frameworks that impact upon creative practice. You will also have the opportunity to plan and run a media event with mentorship and guidance from staff. Other topics covered may include: pitching and persuasion; entrepreneurialism in the media and screen industries; and leadership in the creative industries.

Group pitch – 500 words equivalent (15%); Peer evaluation – 500 words equivalent (15%); Milestone report – 1000 words equivalent (30%); Strategic business plan plus exegesis – 3500 words (40%)
