Chinese 2B HMC220
Introduction
HMC220 is designed to further develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening of Chinese language from the foundation of HMC101/2 Chinese 1A and 1B and following on in sequence from HMC219 Chinese 2A. The focus is to expand vocabulary range and learn more complex grammatical structures and sentence patterns associated with real-life topics.

Learning Outcomes
- Compose sentences and passages in both spoken and written Mandarin Chinese, using relatively complex grammatical structures.
- Convey in writing ideas and intentions in relation to a given topic.
- Verbally express opinions and observations on given topics, using language considered socially and culturally appropriate by native speakers of Mandarin Chinese.
- Develop skills for independently learning Mandarin Chinese.
